6m jet RIB

Has anybody ever seen a RIB like this? Or have any views on it. I haven't bought it, but do have the chance to. Any views welcome good AND bad.

Owing to my distinct lack of knowledge on this subject, I reckon that for that money (if you're getting her for a similar cost to the end auction amount) it sounds like a fair bargain.

You'd have to put up with the colour though...

All depends what you want it for - if you just want a "toy" to have fun in then

http://www.boatsandoutboards.co.uk/view/F66155/

or

http://www.boatsandoutboards.co.uk/view/F66101/ - needs an outboard but looks great - buy a cheap engine now and a better one later?

http://www.boatsandoutboards.co.uk/view/F65782/

Very nice zodiac but £7200 still the price of that ebay thing is rising quite a bit!!!

To be honest it looks a bit too industrial - seems heavy for it's size and although a diesel the weight and lack of efficieny of the jet unit MAY not make it quite as cheap to run as it could be. Quite slow as well......

It's parked in my space in the Marine at Ramsgate as it happens - nearly moved it this evening but was in a good mood!!!

Looks in good condition although i did not inspect closely. The "tubes" are foam not air. I could take a close look tommorow if you like???

If you could have a quick scan over it and see what it looks looks then great. I don't fancy a drive up there with an empty trailer and find its a pile

looks like a watercraft RI6 aluminium hull with PU foam collars that eventually absorb water designed by david steel for fast rescue service on large ships i think there was also an air filled version of the tube

Right, where to start....

I spoke to a friend of mine (also owns a RIB) who remembers this boat when it came up for sale a few years ago...
It was orange at the time and he is 99% sure it came from P&O.
It was with these guys http://www.highwaymarine.co.uk who I don't reckon much on but they do a lot of brokering so this opinion may have little importance.
He bid £3k on the craft and was unsucessfull.
I had a "huge" steel structure on it which has since been removed
This means the current owner paid more than £3k, has done quite a lot of work (it appears and looks so) and if you are being offered this at anything near the auction end price on ebay then this guy is not exactly getting rich on this deal.

Having taken a look at the craft, however, i was not that impressed.
It's clearly not been used in any serious weather - most of the items neatly "stacked" on deck would self-destruct or fall out. There appears to be nowhere to stow anything "securly"
It was clearly oraange (still is below the water line by the looks of it)

Hope that helps - personally I'm undecided if it's a good toy or not.

Thanks for taking a look Daniel. I am not totally convinced with it myself. A little too slow for my liking too .
