A gaggle of Ribs.

In Largs marina today.

Someone said it was a support party for a military exercise in the Clyde tomorrow. All had identical spec; 6.8 Ribcrafts, apart from engine size....200,225,250.
What struck me was there appeared to be nothing unnecessary , everything on them no doubt worked and was well thought out.

16 in total.

Ribcraft 7+

Was down at Largs this weekend, carried out full service to both engines & drives on the Redbay! Feck me, not one but 10 Ribcraft 8mtr ribs with 200+ outboards. Then on the way back to Glasgow one more still on the road all the way from the south of England! All them for the navy to have a bit of fun .Is it little wonder that our country is bankrupt!

Apparently, they've been ordered by the Royal Navy after someone in the MoD's top brass overheard a pub conversation between two ribbers, one of whom was heard to say, "My new Ribcraft absolutely flies!".

Question is, just how many Ribcraft could you fit on the flight deck of the new Aircraft Carriers?

I think someone should tell them that there's something in that corner of Largs Yacht Haven that nibbles props. Especially when the water is that low...

(Don't ask. All you need to know is that at tickover it sounds like "Munch-munch-munch" whispered by Kylie Minogue, followed by the experience of waking up next to [big, ugly, unfriendly - you choose] ).

Low water!

Tell me about it I ran a new 7k TRP portside through the mud! But it was in neutral!
