A Stupid Question...

As someone who as only ever used their boat in freshwater, I often get the desire to drag it to the ocean... East Coast or Florida Keys perhaps.

Pardon my ignorance, but what do you guys do with lights on your trailers? I have enough trouble keeping them working in freshwater!

Also, my engine is a Yamaha Saltwater Series, so it has a good flushing system (I think!). Is a good freshwater rinse/flush all I need to do to avoid corrosion? When I worked in the Carribbean many years ago, I recall outboards dieing after only 2 or 3 seasons...

Thanks!

We have removable trailer light boards.

The salt water isn't quite so agressive here either because it's colder.
We spray the whole powerhead with WD40 or the like and flush/rinse every time we use them if possible.
