Advice - Drainage flap on transom

Hi everyone -
New to the forum - everyone I know has been telling me to join!

I have a flatacraft force 5, which has a "flap" on the bottom of the transom that is pushed opens when cruising, letting any water out from the hull. The last couple of visits to the boat I have found the hull totally filled up- and have tracked down the leak to this flap - it appears water is slowly sneaking in when the boat is stationary.
Anyone else have any issues with this?
Or know if you can get replacement flaps?
Thanks for any advance for any help.

Welcome to the forum eastneuk.

The rubber diaphragms fail on these one way balers. Water pressure is meant to seal them, although not convinced. Replace the rubber flap or look at a rubber plunger to seal from the drainwell side. Similar thread here: https://www.rib.net/forum/f8/zodiac-...eak-83511.html

we used to replace the flaps on our Flatacraft force 4s with a piece of Hypalon laminated to a section of of old inner tube, with the inner tube on the hole side.

It worked much better, but only until the first tiny piece of debris got in there and held it open.

I converted the last Force 4 I had to an elephants trunk.
