advice please

Hello all,
I was wondering if I could have some advice on a secondhand boat price?
I have seen a Redbay 7.4m, 165hp diesel, wrap around console. It is 99 model (not sure if that is 3 or 4 years old), good condition, no trailer, it also has radio, radar & plotter. I am told 200 hours use. The asking price is £30k. But, I believe I can get a new one of these for £37k inc vat, albeit without instrumentation.
I like the boat, but it seems rather close to the price of a new one. I dont know what kind of depreciation to expect.
I am new to this so any advice will be gratefully received.
Thanks, Nik.

£30.000

If you have that sort of moey to spend may I suggest you wait for the London Boat Show where you'll nail a dealers hat on for a brand new boat with all the trimmings. That said, it's a buyers market this late in the season. If it were me, I'd go to the boat show with my cheque book !

Redbay Stormforce 7.4m

It certinaly seems on the dear side to me. I have a 1998 model c/w trailer for sale and am asking £23k, which having looked about is about right.
