Advice please... are my tubes Hypalon or PVC?

Sadly someone decided to put a knife into the tube of my 2006 Zodiac Pro Open 550.

Unsure if it is PVC or Hypalon so I make sure the right repair is carried out.

Can anyone tell from these photos?

Thanks

Stuart

Almost certainly PVC.
Open the slit slightly, PVC will be same colour on both sides of the material

Polymarine have good instructions online about repairing larger openings like this. Usually an inner patch followed by an outer. Follow the exact manufacturers instructions. You need a very low humidity environment for proper adhesive application

SHARC is a varnished polyurethane. There will be a blue logo on the tube somewhere that says "SHARC" if they are that material.

If not, then they're PVC.

SHARC requires light sanding, before wiping with MEK and gluing with plastomer adhesive. PVC, skip the sanding.

Thanks for all the replies and apologies for the silence after!

There is no 'sharc' written on so looks like it is PVC.

Cheers

Stuart

Small slice like that should be a simple fix. Use a good two part adhesive then clamp your patch if you can after bonding . Should end up with a good air tight seal.
