True to form and in keeping with his word - and style and grace, Brian has given another £100.00 - to match the 10 donations between the time of the offer - midday - midday last week!

Grand total tonight:
£4,385.05

(you keeping up Keith - with your lighthouse?)

Cheers all.

Any more for any more?

They are almost on the halfway mark - refuelling stops and mileage - and it looks like we are almost on the halfway mark on the money-ometer as well.

Hi Nadia

It's about time I made a contribution. Am sending £ 100-00 tonight for the coffers.

Anybody else like me who's been meaning to chip in but not got around to it yet, c'mon, we should be up to 5k by now.

All the Best,

Brian

Good man, Brian!

Feeling I might be pushing too hard, I've stayed off this thread for a while. But, if I may, I'll put in a brief reappearance just to keep it near the top of the list.

Clive's latest report of Spirit's passage through the Kuril Islands really is very evocative. The number of Westerners who have sailed those waters is very, very small indeed. Simply, for most of us, they are one HELL of a long way from home.

By any yardstick, this is a most remarkable voyage. It would be a very real tragedy if Alan failed to finish because he just ran out of money.

Don't put off the moment any longer, folks. A hundred quid might hurt a bit. But it will make the difference between success and failure for this bold venture.

Dig deep, please...

Had another £100.00 in via the phone last night.

Total todate: £4,535.00

Reply to prev notes:
Thanks Whiteshoes - are you sending a cheque?

Can we get halfway before the boat gets halfway - they have another 320 miles to go before they reach this point.

They will be refuelling tonight BST time - about 10:30 and then off they go again.PK is 12 hrs ahead.

Can the Ribnet forum members take this challenge? and win?

Another £100.00 in the post
Cheque.

Total now is £4635.00

But..but...no address to send certificate out to..cheque from a
B G Taylor

Is that you Whiteshoes?

Send me a line direct or call me on 07802795583
Thanks

I made a little mistake yesterday with the miles to go before the halfway mark

They had done 12300, and had 12,620 to go.
So..only another 130 miles before the halfway mark - which they should have reached by now.
Crossing the Int date line today as well:
AP says they are all a year younger now..I mean a day...someone suggested here they should cross it a few times!

AP is thinking - "he is going to hit his head on the cabin roof - oh no, he has done that already on the POB"

CT is thinking" is he, isn't he?" (taller than me?)

SL is thinking"as long as he does not touch my brown sauce supplies, he may step on the boat and step off again"

Oh how we deviate.
