Aluminium tank

Fitting new aluminium tank under console. I fully understand it needs no trapped moisture and airflow. Hoping to raise it about 25mm off the deck. Anyone have any good ideas on what to sit it on. 240ltr

Is it meant to sit on bearers? The only reason I ask is because I bought a new plastic tank and it was stated it had to sit on a flat base.

Iroko or marine ply would be my choice as they are easy to bond on.

Americans all seem to refer to this website How to Install an Aluminum Fuel Tank : Boats, Yachts - Maintenance Repair and Troubleshooting

Says supported every 12”. My tank guy insinuated fully supported but was a little non commital.

Hpde was my first choice but might end up costly. Just looking around now at prices.

As Guy says, wood would be easier to bond to. Polythene (hdpe, ldpe, mdpe et al) is notoriously difficult to glue, you need to mechanically fix it or weld it. I'd be tempted with wooden bearers with a flat sheet of ply on top to form a base.
