Amble
Good evening ,
Thank you for everyone that helped out with advice on launching from amble marina . We had three fantastic days up there and got bloody lucky with the weather .
Just a few bits for your info
We camped at a site called walkmill on the guyzance road out of warkworth , really good small site . They have a static caravan kitted out like you would for a basic holiday home but is open to use from all campers . So bath, shower, kitchen and lounge with settees etc
Short bike ride into warkworth for a beer
Amble marina was as friendly as everyone suggested , the public slipway had a lock put on it the day before we got there . The marina had not been informed . A guy called Nick could not do enough for us even though it was not their fault , he arranged to launch us from the yacht club slipway and indeed hooked our boat on his van and launched it .
When we came to recover the marina had been given a key to the slipway gate . They were also given a form we had to fill in along with a £20.00 deposit for the said key !!! The marinas view was the unlocked system had worked for the last twenty years without problems but hey ho .
Whilst we were recovering someone else turned up to use it . I was not allowed to sell him the key for £20.00 so we walked down to the marina together and I got my £20.00 back and he then gave them £20.00 and we walked back to the slipway together !!! Only in England .
Had a great run up to holy island and back . Dolphins , puffins all ticked off , fantastic
Thanks again to everyone's help we had the most fantastic few days which would not have happened without it

Stevedonna,
Very useful, we are thinking of taking our dive rib there to do some exploring with our sidescan this year. Possibly visiting the Acclivity wreck, never been there, usually done from Seahouses but its a bit of a tab from there.
Simon.

Sorry been busy . Think it was about an hour but we were not going as the crow flies and taking in the scenery . The sea was as flat as a witches . The slip way at amble is shallow sheltered and easy but shallow

If you want use the marina there is a concrete ledge access is good though I think on average 31/2 hours either side of high tide.

That sounds do-able, cheers. If we do the Acclivity I'll try and post some side scan shots of her.
