Anchoring a 7.8m rib on a sandy seabed

Just about to head off on our summer hols to the hebrides. We use a 7.5kg bruce anchor to moor the rib overnight with bags of chain but i want to take a smaller anchor for just anchoring her off beaches on day trips...just in case we get some sunshine! Pretty sheltered bays and only for a couple of hours at a time - anyone any thoughts on what the best type of anchor (or the one that takes up the least space) we could use would be....grapple anchors seem useless in sand even though they take up v little space. I was thinking something around 3-4kg with about 2-3 fathoms of chain but will that be enough for a boat of this size?

When we take the Searider over we just pull her up the beach or push her off with an anchor line to the shore but i think we are best anchoring this one a bit further off...dont fancy trying to drag her down the beach!!

Will be on Iona for two weeks from 28th july incidentally - anyone passing through and fancy a flotilla trip let me know.

cheers
Alasdair
