RIBase
I very rarely anchor, but when I do, I have a bit of cheap rubber matting that I lay over the tube. This protects the tube from the rope/chain when retrieving. It lives in the anchor locker under the anchor & protects the inside of the locker from the anchor bouncing around.

6kg is a hefty lump for a 6m RIB, what size do you use for routine anchoring?

The folding umbrella type are next to useless in my experience, better off with the bag of stones!

Have you considered getting a local Powerboat Instructor to take you out for a couple of hours, there may well be some techniques you could pick up from their experience?
