anglesey

I'm planing to take my RIB over to Anglesey this weekend, can anyone recomend;

1) decent slipways for use with a normal car at any tide

2) anywhere to camp with a boat, i.e. a campsite by the water?

thanks in advance for any help!

try Sandy beach camp site literally adjacent to a sandy beach a few miles across the water from holyhead not been there for a long time it was a basic site but perfectly acceptable although other half complained about cold showers!!!! try this link http://www.hotels-north-wales-uk.co...._anglesey.html you can launch across the beach but not sure about using an ordinary car maybe the site have a tractor that can launch for you?

cheers fred, sandy beach looks good but my car is not suitable for beach launching. I tried boatlaunch but I cant get it to display the details of any points on the map, I've checked my setings and they seem right.

I've just decided to wait until tomorow, rather than camp tonight, launch at beaumaris around 10ish tomorow morning and spend the day cruising around the North of Anglesey with my camera and notebook and creat a DIY guide book of bays, beaches, slips and campsites for future use. Then pull it out at Beaumaris in the evening since I undersatnd theres a good slipway there which I can use at any tide.

Anybodt fancy a cruise around Anglesey tomorow?!

Craig, be aware that with effect from this year Anglesey Borough Council is now charging £10 a go for launching at all slipways on the island and you have to pay a one-off registration fee of £18 which then covers you for the full calendar year. You will also need to produce your boat's insurance certificate to the official parked at the top of the slip.

Treaddur Bay slip on the west coast is another one worth trying. It's accessible at all tides and the beach is hard enough to launch with a saloon car if it's LW.

I'm not in Anglesey this weekend but am a frequent visitor. Let me know a few days in advance next time you go there and I'll come out with you. BTW, who do you fly for?

Thanks for that Phil, nice to know in advance when someone is going to relieve me of my cash!

Fly a private business jet!

Will probably be taking it out around Anglesey again at the bank holiday if your around then.
