I bought some stuff off him. He was like a terrier one minute chasing me. Then disappeared. Maybe he has other projects too

Not wanting to pull the bloke down but I ordered a fuel tank 11 of sept terms 4-5 days to process 48 hours delivery started to worry when PayPal said dispatched but no delivery inform or tracking number left it 20 th sent a mail no reply phoned left messages finally on the 22nd he sent me a mail I will sort for you Jeff left it over the weekend so phoned voicemail full taking no more messages so today opened a dispute with pay pal money refunded this afternoon. No apologies nowt bad form in my book I understand there's problems, lost in the post, supplier let him down but a quick call or text would have done. Now I won't deal with him a shame because it seems a good shop.

mmmm... I should have searched here before I ordered...

- Sent a message in mid Nov asking about part, back and forth discussion after I took pictures at this end with dimensions on them. "Yes I've got one in stock".
- Invoice send to me 8th Nov.
- Paid 8th Nov. Said he'll send tracking info next day.
- I chase for tracking details 22nd Nov.
- He replies 30th Nov saying didn't have the right size so had to get one and get it galvanised, would be dispatching Friday (4th?) - on Next day service
- Chased again today
- Got a quick reply within 2hrs: "Just sorting it now with TNT, it was delivered but not to the correct address. (TNT had duplicated labels). They are picking it back up today and delivering tomorrow."

Anyone think its going to arrive here tomorrow? I'm doubtful (still no tracking info) and dreadful comms. If any of this was true all he needed to do was drop me an email or give me a call to explain part was not the right size, then it had been shipped, then oh bugger its gone to the wrong place, but I'm doing all the chasing here and the excuses are getting more and more far-fetched.

I don’t know him personally but I got stung on some roller bunks. He talked me into heavy duty rollers etc and I paid extra. They are rubbish and the roller arms bend. Poor quality welding and thin wall tubing. That was several years ago.

Oooh, so today's update:

A proactive phonecall - not from Phil but from the "Parcel Supermarket" who he booked it through. They think *I* have the shipment that should have gone to someone else. Expectations reset. Then she asks me if it's supposed to be coming to me or to Phil! And that she expects TNT to collect it today (not yesterday as Phil promised) and it will probably take 3 days to get to me from wherever it is (not next day like Phil said!)...

How long before I should do the credit card charge back? I'm thinking if I've not got tracking details by close of play Friday?

I’d start the charge back now. You’ve been patient and reasonable. The charge back takes around 6-8weeks to go through anyway & can be cancelled at anytime. You’ve nothing to lose & it might sharpen his mind.

Looks like I have a similar issue.
Very quick to invoice and acknowledge receipt of payment. Now silence and no reply re shipment or tracking.

Hopefully he'll surface soon. Watch this space!

What are everyones thoughts about having an ongoing thread "Dodgy Dealers" similar to the SIBs on ebay thread. At the very least it would give us all a heads up on who we should be aware of doing business with?

Maybe we would be better off doing one the other way i.e. good service.

I'm guessing you can populate the thread with the name and the service / product they provide so it would be easy to search.

I suspect that Social Knowledge won't go for it - unless you post your home address for the plaintiff's legal team to contact you at...

Very true, but perhaps GuyC has the better idea

Well he surfaced last night - almost like he's seen the thread! He sent me an email at 8.44pm last night - "Further to my last email I can confirm that TNT picked up the extension from the incorrect address today and will deliver it to yours tomorrow." (that's the whole message - he's a man of few words).

Needless to say no such delivery has been received today. He's not actually sent any tracking details so I can see if its on its way...

Thanks for the update. It's early days for my order so still hoping he'll get back to me with some info.

A lot of couriers are really struggling atm, hopefully your delivery will turn up eventually.

I ordered a boaty bit on Monday Poly.. (from a reputable dealer) I got an Email on Tuesday saying that it was now dispatched to TNT but when I checked the TNT tracker to find out when it would arrive ..the number was not recognised ..well ... until lunch time today when it suddenly appeared and said it was being collected in Manchester ..then half an hour later it arrived at my door.

I guess the couriers tracking systems are struggling just now but TNT still only took two days to get the goods to me.

Wish you luck ..sounds like you are dealing with a chancer ?
