In addition to family in New Zealand a cousin of mine is based in Brisvegas and has a property out on the Whitsundays somewhere - must go and visit sometime!

There is a bit of boating to be done on the west coast, you can cruise out through the Manukau harbour to get easy access to the coast without launching through the Surf... Bethalls is nice, I quite often fly over there when the weather is nice. I always think it would be good to land on the beach and go to the cafe there!

The Cafe is great but mostly only open at weekends and holidays - the only boating I've done was up in the Bay of Islands where we chartered a Princess for the day to take the family out - great fun! There's usually plenty of room on the beach - I'm sure the authorities would have a field day in the UK if you landed a plane on a beach here!
