Antifoul

My AvonSR 540 has suffered the indignity of grey sludge antifoul. Does this come off easily?
What do.i put on instead and what preparation of surface needs to be done ? My boat is on a mooring for about 5 months per year.
Thank you?

What do you mean by “sludge” antifoul? Simply that it’s been slapped on and is full of ripples? International Interstrip is a good product for getting it off, but still requires some effort. Your best bet is a hard racing antifoul to replace it.

RIBase
I went through various chemicals/strippers trying to remove the antifoul from mine. The only chemical which worked also melted the gelcoat!

The anit-foul looked like light grey wall paper paste.

Eventually, I wet blasted (jetwash with kiln dried sand) very messy, tedious and time consuming.

Next time, I won't buy a an anti-foulded boat again (unless I plan to keep it in the water).

Looks like we have the same antifoul. Elbow grease, I think.
Thank you for your help
