I have gone back and read your note and the bit I missed was the holding the rag against it to give it time to saturate - but I was just giving it a go to try it and dodging the rain showers at the same time. So, no, not effectively enough, I think.
5/10, must try harder, I think, is my score.

Haha dont get me wrong its not an easy fix, there isnt one. But I've found it the best of a bad job, painting it is a last ditch effort imho & involves either flipping the boat over or missed patches where the blocks were. Copper coat is good but its expensive, not easy to apply & always looks awful on a trailered boat. Blasting is quick & least input for you but means either painting or some other coating needs re applied. I've found that most folk dont prep very well for antifoul & usually you have fairly minimal scratching left to polish up to a reasonable finish as long as your not at it with a scraper to get it off.
I definitely think some form of chemical removal is the best option although it is messy & tedious.

It doesnt work if the cloth is just damp, it needs to be wetting the surface to melt the antifoul. You can soften most single pack paints this way

I seem to remember using scotch pads soaked in thinners as well

Did any of you try a spray bottle with the thinners? So you can spray the thinners on as you go?

I haven't tried it but sounds like a reasonable idea probably worth a try

Yes thats exactly what i used with the thinners and scraper and alot of rag , scotch brite green pads athough i found the redish colour pads from automotive shops a bit better and more resistant to thinners . the other secret weapon of choice is a "Linbide scraper " but you must keep it absolute pure flat to the glass or you will do moor harm than good.
With regard to the Peel tec i was honestly trying to get you to try it ,as it was dramatic for me and i honestly wanted to make you try and see ,infact if i was nearer to you i,d probhably be round to help you by now ........sorry did look a bit of a pop for which i apologise ,blame the yukon jack

No sweat - I sometimes spend ages writing someone a lengthy explanation on something and get a bit miffed when I think they completely ignored it too.

I didn’t use a spray just poured it into a tin, I used gun cleaner from memory and plenty of nitrile gloves will be needed
