Any one familiar with the farne islands?

Hi fellars

Are there any of the northern guys that have cruised the Farne Islands? The North Sea can be good for a blast but we prefer to explore rather than just burn fuel (no Yorkshire jokes please) if anyone knows of a good place to launch, we would love to hear from you. The wildlife looks fantastic but not sure how safe the waters are.
The weather looks half decent next weekend so we might have a ride up there.

We used to play around that area quite a bit but its been a few years since we've been
Launching at seahouses is ok as long as your not on low water but we prefered beadnel it was a tractor assisted launch in summer but in winter we used to sneak under the barrier & run like hell with the boat & trailer to get past the soft sand on the beach
Needed a long rope to recover though as couldnt get the car past the barrier
Think the barrier was about chest height so we used to just push the boat & trailer under but we did see guys with larger boats slide them off the trailer to get them under
Im sure its the local council who operate the slip & car park at beadnel but obviously they wont advise about sneaking under the bar
Think the harbour master looked after the slip at seahouses (grumpy old bugger back then)
Good spot though amazing to watch the seals all around & under you & depending on the day the north sea can be a pussy cat just watch the weather & enjoy

Seahouses is your best & nearest launch site for the Farnes. We dive the area every year. Leave the boat in the harbour overnight if you wish at £15 per night. Day launch is £8 I think?
Grumpy old harbour master, but be polite & humble to him, you'll be fine.
Park the trailer on the small beach above waterline, park your vehicle on harbour wall at £4.50 per day.
Get a good chart for the area!!!!!!!!! Rocks pop up where you least expect them! Seal city though! Great area!!! Enjoy, but watch those tides ripping through the islands!!!!!

Forgot to say, the £15 includes launch fee!
