Any tips on removeing antifuol?

Anyone know any helpful hints on removeing antifoul? seems to be only one coat,and not sanded befor hand.

International paints to a stripper specifically for antifouling.

Strangely, it is called Interstrip!

or dilunette gel ( I think that's what it's called)

both it and Interstrip are nasty stuff though, so wear the right protective stuff.

It's also much easier if you can turn the boat upside down, although not easy for most people to do I know

Help yourself along before putting the paint stripper on. Blast it off with a powerful jetwash first.

I'd leave it on it will be a nightmare to get off and really wont slow you down too much anyway. I'd really not worry about about it I am sure it will be fine it won't slow you down at all I am sure you won't notice any difference.

ha ha trouble is, if it will do 45kts with the a/f removed it should achieve 47kts,

I have heard of a girl called Michelle from Portishead that can strip the antifoul off the hull of a Rib at 50 paces

Not sure how to reach her though you may need to shine a spotlight into the clouds

If it's not sanded you might be lucky - I have done half of one side of mine using nowt but B&Q's best paint scraper....... (use a dust mask if you go this way!) If the surface hasn't been prepared you may find like mine did it comes off in large flakes.

Once you've done that, two passes with sansdpaper backed by a rolled up cloth - one at around 800ish grade, then a final pass with a dose of 1200 wet'n' dry. A blast with a jetwash (or a bucket of spoapy water in the absense of a jetwash) to remove the fallout & job done.
