Do you mean the company or the boat.

I bought my rib from that company - wasn't overly impressed with them. Rib X have since taken the franchise off them, I think.

RIBase
Was for sale by Bembridge Outboards all last year for £29,995.

Looks like a good deal but no trailer though.
No A frame either.

I dont know the boat

but, he puts the boats on at too high price, i know becuse i got mine from there, luckly for me the owner let it slip what he paid so we agreed a price before the broker tried to get more.

To put into prospective mine is a 2000 model, same lenght is i was to sell i would at the moment ask 17k and less as the years go on

Jimbob, if you sold your RIB for £17k you would be giving it away!

Rib X where with SAL Marine and they (SAL) decided not to continue with them.

"he puts the boats on at too high price"

Sorry missing the point, when i sell my boat i want the broker to get as much as poss. Perhaps he and all other brokers/dealers should start at a level where we all pay the right price, smell the coffee

I suppose my point is that, whilst i understand that the broker needs to get as much as you can, i suspect in his case he sometimes asks too much at the start and it takes some time to shift, there have been a few people on Ribnet in that state

Richard - oh no

IMHO, You will find that the price that he starts with is what the seller wants/thinks its worth etc and that is usually the problem area. Not listing to the broker in the first place. He gets paid whatever, thats his job and thats what you pay him for.

I think the probleam with RIBs is you tend to buy them with your heart and when you want to sell you have to use your head (reality)and thats when it hurts as i have always said the real value of some thing, is what some one will pay,not what its valued at. And as most of us are weekend ribers how do we know what our boats are worth.

Scorpion 7.5

That rib's been sold. It was moved from Bembridge to Lymington Boat Sales and sold pretty soon after.

Stewart Thornley runs Lymington Boat Sales, and seems like a top bloke. I've just taken delivery of an 8.5m Scorpion from Graham, and he's handled everything perfectly, including getting the boat delivered to Poole for shipping to Jersey. I'd definitely recommend him.

Hmmm... That not what the Rib X guy told me at the boat show but you can't always believe what salesmen say.
