Anyone dealt with Marine Megastore
I just searched the internet to find more about this company
marine megastore
i've just had the most awful day trying to deal with them, after waiting for an order to arrive, its turned up with bits missing and the customer service was dreadful.
Took 4 phone calls, each time was told i can't speak to customer services, asked to speak to some sort of manager, was told no.
had to basically say i'm not getting off phone until i can speak to someone about it.
i would strongly advise staying clear of this company

Hmmm
Thats not good, I'm currently waiting on an order from them as they had 10% off your first order and free delivery!
I'll let you know how many pieces my order arrives in!!!!

do a search here there was a thread about 3 weeks ago along similar lines. IIRC they did get the goods in the end - just a bit slow.

I hate the way their description for each item is all computer automated and makes no sense or actually gives you any information.
Puts them on my black list straight away

Last Nov/Dec.I ordered 3M cleaning products off them twice because their prices could not be met by other online stores and the fact that their postage to N. Ireland was good... although I did have to phone to remind them to post my order second time round after they deducted from my bank a/c and nothing appeared after 2 weeks.

If this is the one in Port Solent, it is a great resource.
I have only bought from the shop, not mail order.
I have found the shop well stocked, prices good, in the main, and the service courteous and helpful.

I think you're both confusing Marine Megastore (the topic of this thread and based at Hamble le Rice) with Marine Superstore, the Port Solent chandlery.

Ensign Way off Hamble Lane
Mixed bag of experiences - not as big or competitive as the Port Solent Operation, the store is OK. The Mail Order/Web 'shopfront' is huge but high proportion of products are sourced as a broker, so delivery times can vary - hence part orders arriving. Some of my orders have been cancelled through frustration, others have arrived quickly - issue is stock availability at point of order.
Worth supporting though.......

Well, seeing as the original poster registered, posted and hasn't been back since I think we can fairly safely say this was a smear attempt.

Well smear attempt or not, I feel i should update you all as i didn't know what to think this afternoon......
Got back home about half 5 ish and my house mate had collected the parcel from Fedex earlier in the day, could see instantly that it wouldn't have contained everything i ordered. Opened it all up, and i have 2 of the 3 things i ordered, but also the keen packer of the goods must have got quite caught up in the moment as he wrapped up his safety knife used for cutting boxes and tape too.
To summarise, i'm still not sure what to think, half the goods arrive after 6 days and the rest?....... who knows.
I'll let you know.....
Jimmy

marine megastore
I have used them a few times (8-10), delivery a little slow at times but prices are good and service is ok on the whole.
bear in mind the store in hamble is not the head office or central distribution centre, that is in london I think.

i am back lol
i ordered some bits for a car, i'm not a boat man, couldn't find many places that stocked what i wanted so tried marine megastore. After having a terrible time and being lied to/fobbed off and given excuses, i searched for boat forums and marine megastore and came here to see what others thought of the company. I may even send them some feedback back to them
i can't believe the grief i had. Got everything sorted now, but only after refusing to get off phone.
I certainly wouldn't use them again, the chap couldn't even read there own order form properly i (the customer) had to explain everything to them

Well I have used them 5-6 times and found them to be just a normal internet supply company...
good website, plenty of choice, good prices, good delivery, no problems at all.
