Anyone got a Brig ?

I saw the Brig ribs at the Soton show, really liked them but there doesnt seem much chatter on here about them (good or bad) has anyone got one/had one that can give some real life feedback ?

I'm abit torn between the Brigs and the Ribeyes, I want a 5-6m boat but somehow it feels that these brands are for the lightweight weekenders (like myself) and most the ribbers here are into the more utilitarian boats. I'm just trying to find the right balance of family friendly and a bit of a white knuckle ride with the lads. The boat show just confused me even more

The small Brig tenders look reasonably well made and there's a hypalon tube option on some models. Can't comment on their bigger stuff, sorry.

All the RIBs at the Southampton Boat Show have their place in the market (well nearly all).

The Brig boats are attractive and suit those after a more sociable boat, although perfromance is reasonable too. Ribeye are a hugely successful brand and have some decent hulls, probably not as attractive as the Brig boats.

There are plenty of other options to look at although I imagine budget plays a part in your decision? Piranha RIBs would be worth a look (very sociable and attractive) now built in an established european commercial facility, they have some impressive hulls especially the new 8m.

When budget, layout and performance are important it is always hard to find the perfect RIB. Keep looking and test the RIBs first.

The National RIB Show next April if you haven't bought by then, would be worth a look at www.nationalrib.co.uk

sTTu: What sort of layout are you looking at and what budget? You may find that other (more respected) manufacturers will be able to make you something to suit.
