Anyone has any experience of Coding the RIB?

So to keep it short, I have had a couple of offers from Charter Companies in Solent and London to Code my rib and leffectively put my rib on a boatshare fleet...

The equipments needed as per MCA's requirement are all available (all came with thr RIB). So my only question is what are the REAL benefits for the owner of doing it instead of letting it stay on a drystack...?

The package that I have been shown sounds promising (the key thing is that I will have access to "a RIB" with just a week notice regardless of whether or not my own RIB is available...), but still unsure about the whole process and pros and cons...

So has anyone done it?!

Done it in the past, depending on which company you are going with. Be careful with their T&Cs. I have heard quite a lot of so called "entrepreneurs" who just manage to find a few boat owners and promising them so much and just benefit from their asset without contributing much into repairs etc..

If you are just trying to reduce the mooring cost, I would strongly suggest you find a cheaper marina or trailer your rib.

Unless you're looking at earning over 3k a year I wouldn't bother
Had mine coded through Mecal. Took them 6 months to make there mind up then change it then give me a certificate that was already 6months out of date
It's not worth doing for just an occasional charter
