Anyone launched from Axmouth beach

I'd like to visit an area about a mile East of Axmouth.

I have my tender which is a lightweight 2.7m with 5hp engine. It's an easy carry.
Anyone have any experience of the area for launching?

Hi Trevbouy, The beach at Axmouth( Seaton) is shingle. There is a slip way at Axmouth sailing club into the River Axe, about 250 metres from the sea. ( you’d need to get permission). It’s only accessible from the sea at close to high tide though, through a narrow, walled channel which can be a bit of a thrill ride. If you launch from the beach, you might need dropping off to set up.
, as parking is restricted on sea front, from memory.
Depending on what your comfortable with , you could launch from Lyme Regis and head west to your spot, but it is further.
There are some rocks close off shore to the east of Axmouth to be aware of.
The views of the Jurassic coast along that stretch are great.
Another possibility is Beer, but parking would be a challenge in high season.

It might be worth contacting Axmouth sailing club for more detailed, local advice.

Many thanks for the info. I've seen a video of the narrow entrance and wouldn't fancy that.
Looks like a day out to recce where's best for a beach launch.

Sea trip overall would probably be about two hours. I'm actually looking to land just west of the rocks at Culverhole Point and be approx 30 minutes there.
