Anyone local to Edinburgh??

Hi, I'm looking to purchase a Rib which is in the Port Edgar Marina, South Queensferry, near Edinburgh but being from the south of the Country don't want to do the 6.5 hour drive to view it. ( if I buy it I'd pay someone to trailer it down - see my other recent thread )

I realise it's a long shot but Is there anyone from nearby that would do me a huge favour and pop in to check it over for me? Might just save me from buying a lemon! 😮
Thanks in advance 😊
Steve.

There is a rib place in that marina, give them a call and maybe they will do a survey of some sort.

They are called the bosuns locker or ferry marine are reasonably close who also do rib servicing.

JBT marine are up here quite often so they may be worth a call to see if their delivery guy is up here and going back empty.

Hi, thanks for the reply, it is actually Bosuns locker that is selling the boat.
I'll give JBT a call, definitely worth a try.

Has anyone had any dealings with Bosuns locker? Any feedback may also be useful - PM we if you would rather.
Cheers.

I'm fairly close, and not averse to having a look at a boat and taking some honest pictures for you on a completely "no warranties" basis. Unfortunately I'm pretty busy this weekend so not sure if I will get there in daylight which is probably essential. If you PM me the details though I'll pop out if I can.

I've never bought a boat from Bosuns but they are a long standing chandlery (who have parted me from my £ many times!), who several years ago joined forces with FYM (from about 20 miles away) who I bought my first ever outboard from. Both companies seem OK. I don't recall seeing bargains at either ;-)

I have dealt with bosuns , fair guys and Charles the sales chap is v straight , won’t be cheapest but should be in ok condition for them to sell it ,only 5 miles from airport so worth an easy jet flight to check out and sea test
