Anyone seen or know this boat... scam...?
hi guys I bid on this boat on ebay and won it, however I have been trying to view it to verify its existence and its actually the guys to sell, but he wants me to pay him £10,000 for it before he gives me any details, has anyone seen it,? know who owns it,? and which boat yard its at..? he says its in poole somewhere, but his account says its in Bristol....oh and he isn't in this country either.... apparently away working...?
any help or details would be nice as I want to buy the boat, and have the money, but don't want to be ripped off...!!!

There is a similar looking one of these at cobbs quay im pretty sure but dont know if its this one, I will be down at cobbs this weekend and will have a look for you. HOWEVER...the fact he wont give you any details should be a big warning sign, plus he says he is out the country working etc .... I would insist that he gives you details so you can view it, if not then walk away.

Report it to eBay, tell him to send you a bonafide bill of sale with name address etc, I can't see you getting the boat transported or out of a yard without the owner or a bill of sale and docs. Gut feeling is walk away

Send the £10k to the Folly or another handy pub by the water and ask for it to be used as a tab for any ribnetters, you still loose the money but wont get that sick feeling of being ripped off - we get to enjoy a pint knowing we helped you out.

Those pics are definitely taken in Davis's, but any scammer could know it was there as well from an old advert.
Seriously, don't pay for it til you've seen it and can verify ownership.

View the boat in bank opening hours, once happy you can both go to the bank and do the payment by chaps unless you both bank at the same bank, Job done

I'm down that way after work and seem to recall a conversation with a mate who said he actually knows the owner. I'll have words later and a look see and pm with outcome.
Edit..I think the owner does work offshore regularly so could well be honest.

This RIB was on a swinging mooring for several years in Poole Harbour and I have seen it in Davies Yard. It does exist and is a "local" boat. I have never seen it in operation under its own power
Be careful & good luck
