Apollo RIBs

Anyone ever hear of Apollo ribs, like this one (not actual boat):

https://www.apolloduck.ie/boat/apoll...or-sale/584144

Interested to see what the tubes are made from.

Cheers!

Never heard of them but I'd suspect they are Chinese made & the seller is trying to punt them on as used to avoid any warranty or approval issues. Those pictures look like a new boat not a boat thats done a life then been retubed.
I'd tread carefully

I found an old advert for an Apollo 330 and the seller claimed it was PVC

A friend is looking at one. Sat unused and indoors for 11yrs so it’s ‘new’ I suppose. Apparently the tubes are PVC. It’s a 4.8m rib. It looks super clean but it’s the original build quality which is the question mark. If the one in the link needed new tubes after 10yrs???

That will be the one in Laois for around 6k euro without an engine. TBH they have said they can source a second hand engine. If you could keep price below 10k at today's stupid prices it wouldn't be a bad starter package, I suppose

The one in the link is at inland inflatables, never dealt with them, but they do have a good reputation, give them a ring and ask about the boat, I guess they will be honest

Plus the one at Laois has a new trailer and they supply trailers which is probably worth 13-15 hundred euro

That’s the one. TBH I have a solid engine I was keeping for a 4m searider but the hull was stolen from storage. Now I know that the boat isn’t built to Avon standards but I’m wondering if anyone know what the build quality is like. Mate wants something that’ll be safe in calm to moderate seas, I think I would prefer something a bit more capable.

I agree on the valuation btw, it’s a safe enough bet financially but that’s not the main consideration.
