April Clothing!
Hey,
As my current gear is getting a bit dated and getting a new boat etc wondered what gear people would recommend?
Picking up the new Rib at Easter and spending a week down there so have a feeling it will be a tad chilly and may be a bit wet (hope not)!
Recommendations lads!
Cheers
Jas

I've been using XM Offshore (T 5000 material) jacket and trousers (with braces) for the last 4 years. Can't fault it, and has kept me dry is some poor conditions.

Sorry to be boring but... If you want a set of 'sailing' water proofs then Henri Lloyd's products have been recommended on here before. You will probably be a few hundred quid for a decent outfit. If, however, you wanted to spend considerably less money then have a look at floatation suits commonly used by sea anglers. If you do go for a floatation suit I would recommend that you get a breathable one. either way, you are best to find a shop and go try them on before you buy. Some of the floatation suits can be a bit bulkier than your normal stuff.
Sadly I can't think of any make of sailing waterproofs or floatation suits that will allow you to look all black and slinky...

if you want clothing in black - Baltic do a ice range of flotation suits and jackets.
http://www.baltic.se/wp-content/uplo...85-313x350.jpg
is just one of them , I supplied a mate a set 4 years ago forays he still using them, despite being used every day in summer season as he was a driver for rib operator!
just to keep thread in track - do you think the bikini babe comes with the lifejacket!

Hi, if it helps I use the following:
Musto MPX jacket and trousers
Musto Goretex boots
Musto Socks
Seal Skinz gloves
HH base layer
All the above are great and as I live near an outlet village here in swindon I got most of the above for half price or less
To protect my head/face and to keep warm I sometimes use a Gecko helmet that came from ebay about half price too.
If you are going to own a rib I think you need to use it all year round as some of the best ribbing to be had is in the winter
