Just going to order 10 ton of Aluminium to start building the monster. Had a really good boat show and the knowledge box worked really well with packed audiences and isles. Noticed a couple of people wearing Ribnet Shirts but didn't get a chance to speak with them, sorry about that. We have 22 weeks to build the boat as that is the delivery time we have been given for the engines, gearboxes and jet drives. All being well we should be doing the one and only sea trial in or around July or August Alan P

Any ideas on what you are going to call this ''BEAST''?...Talking to even non boating friends about this little 'Jaunt' lately, and judgeing by thier reaction,this realy has the potential to grip the public's imagination! I just hope the 'Media' gets behind you boys!.. and something I'm sure you're working on!
I remember all the coverage 'Branson' got just for crossing the 'Pond'....or are we going to see a 'Virgin' logo or two?

What kind of seats are you going to use. Can I help out? I did the bulk of 8000 miles on a NW passage last year. Comfort is pretty important. Your speed looks realistic. Good luck - hope you reach your goals.

I can't say what she will be called yet but it is a very important link to every day life and an amazing name. I can say that a clothing manufactor is already launching an intire range of boating and leisure clothes to complement the name.The project will be high profile due to the support we have but it will not have a Virgin logo on it as far as I am aware.
Shockwave, thanks for your offer of seating but we already have selected the seats we will require. As much as this is a huge beast, it only has two seats. One for the driver and the other for th navigator. We have spent an huge amount of time on the sleeping arrangements and have elected to go for a high grade memory foam. Living on board while speeding along for 40 odd days is tough enough so sleep is of the utmost importance. Have a look at the website www.circumnavigationrecord.com and have a look at another twist in the project. Facebook will not like it but we do and in time you will see how it fits in with the title sponsor and the name of the boat. Thanks for the interest Alan P

Hi Alan. I guess you have changed employers since we last met? We have their equipment which we change from boat to boat depending on where we intend to end up etc. Still sorting out $1500 worth of "Trying to connect" charges from the indian ocean when the footprint didnt cover that area and no one told me, got charged a $1 everytime we hit the "Connect button"!!!! for something that wasnt there!!! apart from that I am confident of them as a supporter. Are you and Laura well? In answer to the other part of your question, yes everyone is in. Cheers Alan P

Whale of a time
Nice to see Charles Stewart of Redbay Powerboating on the crew of Goodheart. Pic of Alan & Charles at yesterday's announcement in sponsors Whale Pumps HQ in Bangor, NI. [Thanks to the guys at Whale for the tour and hospitality. Hands up who knew that Whale pumps are designed and manufactured in Bangor, Co. Down?]
Professional firefighter, RNLI Helm/Mechanic, Commercial Yachtmaster Power and all round generally sound lad, Charles is a good pick. I suspect that he is a very calm head in a "bit of a situation"....
