The Humber Tech Dept. have confirmed it's an Attaque 5.3 spot on @Dominic and there's your answer @Whippy.

If it's in good order, it will be a good Rib. They are rated for a 90hp outboard, but the attaques vary in max weight for Outboard. Did Humber give you a year of manufacture and the max HP/weight outboard you can stick on the transom?

Old Humbers never die.

Thanks Dominic - they didn't give me the build date as the numbers I was given didn't mean anything to them. Alix thought around 20 years old maybe a little more.

It has an old Yamaha 70 on it at present. Matt

The pic is of a Humber from the early 90's that I used to dive off. Photo was taken on Saturday. They stand the test rightly.

Before you ask - I don't know what flavour of Humber it is.

That's great info to be honest. Here's mine AFTER a tubes scrub yesterday. [emoji3] you shoulda seen it before.....

The guy that made my cover in Cobh swore it was 5.5m and not 5.3.... but then at €100 p/meter... he probably would [emoji23]

Anyway.... I've only had a few other boats so I'm no expert but for our big Atlantic seas off the Cork coast, driven properly, I've never felt anything other than safe and confident in this old girl. You'll love it. Go for it....

Thanks Whippy, purchase is on hold as I'm selling a KTM Enduro bike to fund and sale just fell through... there's also a Chinook 5.5 up in Mayo for small money, another good sea boat. Rib's seem to be taking a while to sell so there's hope yet !

Assault or Destroyer identification

Ah yeah, I don't think you'll have to go to the West though, sure isn't Cork the home of the RIB in Ireland anyway. [emoji41]

Now... this is by no means a sales pitch as I know and love my own boat so much and have actually spent quite a lot on her lately but.... in about 2 weeks I head back to Kazakhstan in Central Asia where I live for most of the year as I'm director of Rugby and coach the national teams there. After another few uses our boat will be winterised and put away until next summer and I might be tempted to sell her as I really need something bigger. With wife kids and cousins, aunties and Uncles on her this summer going out to Capel Island for day trips, Barbe's and private beaches all summer I felt on many occasions I needed something a bit bigger. I really like the length, weight, power, L&R and towability of my own old girl but.... I'm really tempted by something about 6.5m mainly for the extra width - I've also the options of a berth at Eastferry or a mooring at Ferrypoint. So.... if ya want to come and see mine and we will take her out with absolutely ZERO obligation but knowing she's there for you if ya wanted to make an offer when the time is right. EVERYTHING is done on this boat and trailer and she's used at least three times a week by us....

John 086 2711755 [emoji1417]

Absolutely no stress though because I'm genuinely in two minds over this whole issue as to wether to 'better know your own devil' or go bigger for next season...

Thanks John I'll keep that in mind, interesting job! Doesn't sound like you'd be interested in a swap for the KTM though... ;-)

No man - sorry! I've a Triumph Tiger 'traffic beater' in Almaty and am coming under increasing pressure from the 'Dragon' to sell it.... [emoji53]

Drivers there are from a parallel universe though in fairness, she has a point! [emoji1417]
