at last a decent boating hat
Patagonia Surf Brim Hat from Cotswold Outdoor
Bought one of these in the sale , the description looked good and it does what it says . Stays on, keeps the sun off really well, it floats , deflects the spray, and just rigid enough not to fold over your face when moving . doesn't soak up water and go floppy .
I must look ok because my kids don't laugh at me when wearing .
Top quality too , patagonia stuff aint cheap but at this price it is .
I have had and lost so many summer hats over the years , this one is so good iam buying another incase i can't get one when its worn out .

Thanks for the heads up.

Just got one in a charity shop for a quid. Soooo... Charity got a quid & I get to feel not bad, when I see it fly off and float away later in the year, as is surely bound to happen.
No...on second thought, this one will turn out to be a keeper.
The flying off & floating away would only happen if I bought a new one at the full price.

Picked up my hat today from Cotswold Camping!
Tried it on and it feels like I've got a thong tied round me head
