Engine off bolt onto my project
Rigged up and sounding lovely,
Hydraulic steering was a game for some reason but we got there in the end.
various bits made up to tidy around the many holes on the a frame plus base mounting plate

bilge set up, all running under floor through stringers i shall change top end outlet to a stainless through fixing,
there is an in line one way valve so it will end up flush mounted to deck and simply flood onto floor and out the open ass end
as i am of the slightly well built shape, i wanted plenty of access if required in console, hence the strange cut out,,
now with this cnc cut thingy it will look normal with hatch, but removable if we need access to tanks batts etc it is easily achievable

Now the bit that has seriously stressed me out, tube rails, Uh uh no way
For the life of me these are not going on my hull, well beyond my many talents they are,
i honestly think that this is the first time i have ever been beaten by sumat
Boat is off to Wincanton. Henshaws Wed/Thurs for the multi talented Chriss team to work there magic. The tubes are being bonded on in the traditional Rib building method; they and others have done this many times on these hulls.
Bit of work required on my behalf to help keep the costs down,
Chris informed me how and where to prep, nice easy clear instructions on a PDF,
I or my OCD deficiency took it a little further to make it easy for them,
Filled in and glassed the step out where the rails would normally go, makes it a tidy job and much simpler for bonding to,
Chris, look good enough for you?
I was informed by a very nice and helpful chap on this Forum, that the RNLI are now doing the same and have done in the past as they believe its a stronger way of doing it,
I was chatting to one of the DLA's on station and he was saying the only reason the RNLI use glued on tubes is because they're stronger than the rails
If its good enough for the RNLI its fine by me.

Pop it in the console. That's where my filter and primer bulb have been for the last 4 years with no problems. Keeps them out of salt spray and UV too.

Designed for six bolts, so I think I'd be using six. I'm sure the bolts are strong enough, but you want to spread the load across as much transom as possible and also avoid concentrated stresses as much as possible. It's not so much 250kgs of engine hanging off the transom as 1ton or so of hull hanging off the engine

Must admit I've never noticed any of my engines fitted with six bolts,
Makes sence to spread the load though
Where's my drill
