attaching an A-frame / engine bar

I just purchased a zodiac 650 pro & would like to add a a-frame to it. I currently have a 2"o.d. aluminum bar / frame from an old river raft that will work. However I am not sure how to have a mounting plate fabricated / welded on the bottom so that will fit on the fiberglass just above the factory mounted cleats. Also I am a little concered the fiberglass will not be strong enough to support it. Does anyone have pictures of their motor mounts when not bolting into the transom & advice or suggestions.

Thanks,
