Avon 4.65 advice please

Hi,

My local sailing club is replacing one of its ribs and im interested to know what peoples opinions are about how to sell it. Currently its an early 1990's Avon supersport 4.65m with a few patches, of which one was due to a large anchor going through the side although this one was repaired by Cosalts. 2 seasons ago it was fitted with single person console and a 2003 Mariner 40hp EFI 4stroke with electric start and power trim and tilt, the trailer we use is a beach one and we wish to keep it for the new rib. My main question is do we sell it as it is, buy a trailer and sell it as a full package or split the engine and hull. Obviously as this is for a sailing club we need to guess the best price as possible.

Any advice and estimated selling prices would be most appreciated.

Thanks for you help

Ed

The value is definitely in the engine. Those Avons have a medium Vee hull, so not as good as a Searider in the ruff. Sounds like it's getting a bit tired now, but may appeal to someone on a tight budget, especially with that newish motor. Your club will probably get a better return by splitting the outfit though.
Is it Tenby sailing club?
