avon 5.4 searider seat arrangement

im picking up a 5.4 searider
it does not have the correct console, the jockey seat looks like a 2 man. neither item is attached in the boat.

anyway. i am thinking of putting in a 30" wide console with a small seat in front of that and maybe two bench seats. anyone have any pictures of any seating in a 5.4 that will hold 5 people?

i think i understand in rough seas standing is better, which i was thinking of having some type of leaning post/backrest that could be used in as either.... depending on seas.

anyone?

This thread shows a SeaRider with 4 single pods.

If you put the console forward a bit, you could make the back ones doubles. I'd use a narrower console and a single jockey for that layout, but it would give you 5 seats. Thinking about that arrangement for mine.

With a 30" wide console, you might want to think about how easily you can get up front if you need to.

I don't think there's room for a single jockey and two bench seats though (but then I didn't think there was room for side-by-side jockeys either!).

Good luck with the project - send pics when you're in progress.

thanks for the reply.

what is the advantage of the side by side jockey over the bench? stability in rough seas for the rider?

My searider has it's original console which is a two man jockey. Indeed every searider I have been in (about 6) has been this style. Please check your anchourage points if switching to a different setup.

All the best they are fantastic boats.
