Avon Adventure 450 any good?

Ive seen a retubed one.

Was considering another Gemini 470 which personally I think are good value, but newly retubed Hypalon, similar size, same seating setup, hard to not consider in the equation.

It doesnt look like it has a large or sharp keel entry/deadrise, but then neither does the Gemini.

But I dont go out in anything overly sloppy.

I had one a few years ago....very uncomfortable in anything more than dead flat...

I'd say more of a river cruising boat than a sea boat...

It gave me the bug for boats though[emoji2][emoji2]

I have one with a jockey console. Goes well with a 50hp etec 2 up. Isn't exactly slammy but isn't the smoothest ride. I think it handles chop much the same as my sr4, the extra size compensates for the flatter hull. My friend has an sr5.4 and that is a different ball game. My storage would be very tight with anything longer so I ruled out anything 5m or up.

For my use in the solent on mostly good weather days it is exactly what I wanted. I liked my sr4 but it was a bit small and this boat is the perfect compromise solution. One day I'll get a big rib but for now this will do

I have a 4m one with 50hp 4 stroke.
For the last 6 years it’s been a fantastic family rib mainly been used in Salcombe and Poole.

Correct it is not a deep V but if the sea is flat it is like a hot hatch.
I’ve realised after being in other ribs that if I want to go longer distances comfortably I would go up to 6m plus as it’s the length with the extra beam that makes the difference.

However mine fits in a garage and is so easy to handle on the trailer that it’s a difficult debate.
We had decided this winter we were going to sell it to go bigger, but after 2 weeks in Salcombe we may change our minds.
