Dive..

I did all my powerboat courses alternate between the Searider 5.4m and Avon D5.60. Bearing in mind it was in 1996, so the D5.6 was new and the searider was a 25 year old design, it was no contest in the rough stuff, the searider won everytime. However, the higher bow of the dive gives a drier ride and the feeling of more security due the height.
Would recommend a Dive for general use and a searider if wanted to go wave jumping in rough stuff. But if want a searider in rough stuff you will need a better console not a MOD style console as they are too low.
5.6m feels like a bigger boat too.
both do similar speeds.
As you can see.. Osprey do not featuree in the equation!
the later Avon adventure hulls are not as competent in the rough stuff due to the shallower V hull, but they look less commercial.
Buy an Avon searider and there is a tasty 90hp yamaha on ebay at the moment see my thread nice engine..
