Avon on ebay

I was interested in bidding on this and then transferring my engine and console to it, however it seems to have gone for far more than I had anticipated. Is it me or has someone overpayed for this, considering there is no trailer etc?

Avon 4.2

Cheers,

Alex

I reckon that will go for between 2.5 and 3k. The engines a little old, as are the controls, but Im sure it goes alright. The boats in very good condition though. Im just after a bare SR4 in mintish condition (dont mind a bit of work!).

Cheers

Alex,

Did you buy that Avon? I would think thats a pretty good deal given the condition. The must be immaculate since the ad states it was barely used and with a small motor.

Unfortunatly, I didn't my student loan doesn't come in till September I think it seemed a good deal, but im sure another one will come up. I ve decided to follow in your footsteps and swap the Supersport for a Searider, for better sea keeping and all round performance. I am planning to buy a bare SR4 and put my new console and my suzy on it, then by a 25HP on tiller and sell the Supersport with that.

Regards

Alex

Yes,

That would be a huge upgrade in what you could do with your boat. I wouldn't consider crossing the channel in the sportboat but I do all the time in my Searider. The sportboat really doesn't perform all that well compared to the searider which is a shame since it seems it takes roughly the same amount of labor to produce it. I was constantly getting bogged and slowed down in small chop. The Searider seems to slice through rather nicely.

Good luck in your search.

Just finishing the next stage for this year to include
New tubes
Rework of the reworked console to fit a fuel tank
Bow locker next week I hope
A frame, would like some pics to show how to attach it
Gps/ fish finder, any ideas on the best position on the transom for the sender

Wow, lots of work and nice Pacific console too Rogue Wave will be impressed with the 4 wheel trailer for a 4.2m rib.
