Avon r3-10

I'm looking at buying an avon r3-10 rib. I can't find any info online about this boat. It's hypalon and has a fiberglass hull/floor, all the boats on Google are either wood floor with soft hull, or a totally different boat but called a r3-10, with more of a flat bow. This one's got a more pointy bow. Not sure of the year, but seems in great shape. It's rated for a 10hp but it comes with a 15. Any idea what one of these boats weighs with the fiberglass hull? I think it's 10 or 11 ft. Any idea how think the fiberglass may be. They guys selling the boat with an older 15hp Suzuki and trailer for 900. Seem like a good deal? Any issues with hypalon in Salt water?

Hi and welcome to the forum. Really we need to see a picture or link to make any judgement.

And yes this model range can be a bit confusing as there are the wooden floor SIB models plus the standard GRP hull version RIB and a Lite version of the RIB with a folding transom. I think the pointy ones are earlier years then they seems to flatten the bow in more recent years.

Any opinions on value will depend on the boat condition, how tidy/roadworthy the trailer is and crucially what age/model the outboard is and how well it's been maintained.

Here are some pictures. It's a 10ft, the seller is an older man and it seems he's taken great care of the boat. It's a 1990 model

As long as there are no obvious areas where the glue is failing and the engine starts OK in a test bucket that's got to be worth $900 as an outfit. In the mad covid times in the UK the engine alone would have made that.

Is the hyupalon glued to the fiberglass? Does that joint fail easier than hypalon to hypalon?
