Avon Rib ID?

Hello RIBnet! I'm a new owner of an old Avon RIB looking for info on it...

Can anyone ID this Avon RIB? Title says 1992, old owner said it measures a bit over 16 feet (I'll measure it myself later today to double check). I searched the web, but the closest to this size is the 4.65m (15'+). Does anyone know if this is a different model? or is 4.65 bow to transom?

Thanks!

Looks very much like the infamous Avon S4.65 Supersport RIB, made in the early to mid 1990s. An awful medium vee hull, with a tendency to climb over waves and slap down on the other side - very uncomfortable. Ok for inshore use, but avoid the waves.

Infamous huh? Oh well, I'm sure it'll get the job done since I'll mostly be using it for local fishing/spearfishing in relatively calm weather.

Avon dropped them after a short time and replaced them by re-inventing the Searider 4.7 as a 470 Adventure. This had the same Searider hull form, but with leisure clothes on, rather than its customary orange and grey uniform.

The S4.65 was ok for calm water, but anyone used to driving a Searider at the time would have been disappointed. In the layout shown, they were poorly balanced (stern heavy) and would have trouble planing with 2 people on the aft bench seat and a couple of full tanks by the transom

Good luck.
