Thanks, Going to fire it up tomorrow and let it run (on ear muffs - not at sea yet LOL)

All seems to be ok, just bought new battery and terminals, managed to find a key that works the ignition so all go now. Only job that need/want to do is wheel bearings on trailer as its been stood for so long.

Lots of garages have fuel dump tanks - mostly used when people fill up with the wrong type!

Hi, Finally got round to puting new battery/fuel etc on. Primed the fuel and whey presto started on 3rd turn of the key!! -- Good news it is now starting on 1st or 2nd turn, doesnt like any choke though!.

Only problem ive now got is the electric tilt isnt working? Going to start new thread for help with this.. any ideas?

You lucky bu***r! SR4 for free!!!! they're great boats. (if you put a console on em)
before you take it to sea I'd take the carbs off and wash them out with fresh petrol, also blow through the jets with lighter gas. dont be tempted to stick bits of wire up them.
If it's laid that long with stale fuel in it the carb can get gummed up, sods law says the problem wont show up till you get out too far to be an easy row back.
Also change the spark plugs.

As for the tilt- check the switches and wiring with a multimeter, they corrode when left for a while.
i'd reccomend getting a manual for the engine and give it a good service.
If it doesnt like choke, that suggests its running rich and wasting fuel, clean the carbs.

hope that helps.
BBB.
