Avon Searider 5.4 tube drawings

Hello,

I have SR5.4 with hypalon tubes and plenty of leaks and nearly as many patches. Tubes are over 30 years old by now so replacement instead of more patching seems viable option. I am trying to source new tubes and having them custom made is one option but I would need drawings. Does anyone have (or know where to get) such drawings?

Cheers,
Kari Kolehmainen

Usually all tube manufacturers need are the lengths and width of flanges at various points along the tube. Tube manufacturers will usually supply a form with the required information for you to complete with the required dimensions

RIBase
I assumed they would take the old ones off and use those for templates.

Thanks. I thought as much as well. It will be a while before I can get to the boat to take measurements so I thought if some one who had those already would be willing to share them.

Many tube manufacturers will already have templates for the sr 5.6 bearing in mind how popular the boat is it may be worth asking your preferred supplier if they already have templates

That is one option of course. In this case it is a more of DIY project so I would rather have new ones ready to go before taking old ones off.

In UK they sure do. Quotes for tubes seem to run somewhere around 2200 GPB plus taxes and shipping. I thought I'd ask quotes from other side of the continent to get some comparison and they don't seem to have drawing at hand for Avon.

Think ordering from UK and installing Your self, is the cheapest and best option. The price for tube work here is really expensive. Probably cheaper in Estonia, but not sure tub work worth doing there, i would rather trust UK workshops, volumes so much bigger.
