Avon Searider 540

There are new rules for emissions coming into force on Irelands inland waterways. Big 2 stroke engines are going to be banned so they are trickling on to the market.
I use my Avon Searider 540 only in the sea and my Yamaha 90 is getting old and tired. I want to avail of the possible glut of biggish engines. What is the maximum size recommended for the Avon 540?

It's more important setting up an SR5.4 to get the balance just right, than to stick loads of power on.
Sticking on a big heavy motor plus the extra fuel it'll entail is a bit pointless.
You won't be able to go any faster unless it's flat calm and it'll be stern heavy.

Avon specs = max 2x40hp or 1x90hp. Max weight 175kg.

Yup.

Get a newer Yam 90-it's the best motor for the SR5.4

Thank y'all for the tips. I will probably try to get a younger Yamaha 90.
