Avon Searider Sr6 6 meter Info

Hi all, I am the owner of an Avon Sr6, and there seems to be a lack of information about them. Plenty of info on 5.4's, but not 6's. I have pieced together a decent knowledge of these boats through my research here and various other places. I'm putting this thread together as a way to combine all of our knowledge of these awesome boats. Please feel free to add links or just chime in with any wisdom.

I'll start by telling you that I just created a 60 page .pdf of the original Avon Sr6 manual!
I got it when I purchased mine. It includes detailed schematics and other good info.

If anyone wants it, i'll send it to you via email, or if anyone knows a good way to host it online, let me know. Here is the cover page and a few others to give you an idea of what it looks like.

Sr6.0

Hello,

Let me know what kind of information you are looking for on the SR6.0. What year model do you have? How does twin 70jets work? Short or long shafts? The hull is in excess of a 10deg. deadrise and I have never found a single jet to work well, twins? The SR6.0 seems to have been discontinued and replaced with a 6.4m.

Let me know how I can help. Take care,

Fry

Hey, ok great. I don't have specific questions as of now, but just looking for general knowledge.

My boat is a 1989. My twin 70 jets seem to work very well, although I don't have top speed info yet. They are long shaft 20''

I would WERY much appreciate the manual pr. mail if you would still bother?

(I think I will fit a 200HP Black-Max on it :-)

Hello,
I would appreciate if you would send me a copy of your manual if it is not too much trouble. I am hard pressed to restore a 1982 6 meter Searider that was given to us as surplus from the Coast Guard and the dive season is pressing hard. I would greatly appreciate a copy so I can get some issues resolved. Thank you for your help. Steve
