it could be whispers old one.. on Ribnet... if so it didnt have that stainless plate on transom. thats a concern

I was going to see it this weekend but I wonder why the transom isn't plated on the inside as well with no obvious signs of damage the vendor appears to know nothing about it!

My old 4.7 had a very similar SS plate on the transom (See picture). I got the boat from a sailing club who had it from new and they fitted the plate to prevent the engine being stolen by someone cutting the transom.
The transom was sound and I had no reason to doubt their explanation.

From memory that was from a sailing club in Oxfordshire, those plates were fitted to stop the transom from being chainsaw'd to get the engine off. I think all their boats were the same after several thefts.

It's ok I found it. Yeah that's my old one, sold it to an Alex on here, it then sold to Scotland and I was buying it back a couple of weeks ago but then the guy had a better offer. It's the new owner that's selling it now.
