Avon SR4 vs ........
Is there really nothing like a old SR4?
or is every one in a craze?
if there is anything what would be the SR4's closest competitor in this new day and age?
also any one had a look at these Jcraft Rigid Inflatable Boats - The Jcraft 400 (4.0m RIB) the hull looks very deep like a rib craft?
and in this video they look very quick with a 30hp!

Nothing in the same price bracket I doubt. That's the point, it's a cheap entry to some good boating with a decent 2nd hand engine and low £ tlc
Jcraft without engine £5k
SR4 with engine and trailer £2-3k

I believe you can still buy the Searider range brand new, not sure if they are still built as well as the old ones though
http://zodiacmilpro.com/rigid-inflat...ats/seariders/
As said above there is a Searider for all budgets: £2k will buy you a fully working SR4 that will give you loads of fun, £3k to 3.5k will buy you a good one, and you can put together a very good one with new engine for under £9k

Once you add a 50hp and trailer the J-craft is going to cost around £13k, which makes a fully restored SR4 cheap at £9k.

I have just bought the JCraft 400 4 mtr rib with an Evinrude30 etec. It was a right gamble as its my first rib BUT I need not have worried as it works brilliantly . It reaches a top speed of about 28mph and cuts through chop well. Videos to follow....
I believe I have the only one ever made but I'm sure he would like to make more.

Mmmmmmm, ice cream! it's a bonus of loitering like vulture waiting for kids to finish the spread, it's a race against other parents hovering about!
Looks a great SR, not got the splash or the time to use at the moment.
I have figured though that my bimmer will tow the cardinal if I get a tow bar. That means the cruising grounds open up somewhat with double digit mpg.

Now that's not a bad idea for a cruise thread! Sandy lane Red House Pub, over the weir at high tide, down the river and out past the wind farm to Anglesey!
River wouldn't know what had happened. LOL
