Surely, you'll be including the remotes when you sell your Merc 25?

I have 2 - one with Starter Keys and E-start provisions, and one that just has a start/stop switch.
The first one is mine, the second one i'm selling.

So you say i have to remove all the Electric stuff from the box/get a dashboard starter key?

You don't need to remove the electrics - but the lack of space inside those controls makes it sooooo much easier to swap the long multicore back to the engine behind your dash - especially if you have to change a connector or two on the end of it.
My Merc cable to Yam switches needed one bullet "gender swapped" I guess by reverse you'll need to change one too. (or use a coupler)

This of course, assumes you have the wiring for the Yam.

That is one purchase I will make when i have the motor.
Anyway the possibilty of using my old box reduces the strain on the budget, and thats good

Bottom line is all old 2-strokes have similar wiring:
+12
GND
Start
Choke
Deadman / stop
tacho signal
(maybe another for temp / alarm depending on age)
There would be nothing to stop you taking the plug off the remotes loom at the engine end & solder / crimping the approptriate bullets or eyes to the individual cores, then just "hard wire" it into the engine loom instead of using a plug.
Unless you plan to regularly remove the engine, all you have done is remove another possible corroded terminal from each circuit!

Ok, Thanks! Will do.
The To-Do List consists of
Getting the Boat
Repainting both inside and out
Removing Gummipaint from the Tubes
Reinstalling the Console, and getting new seats
Getting a motor
Install that motor
drive.
So the motor is quite late, still, i don't have to look for a new yamaha control, they are quite rare in germany, and accordingly priced.
