AVON SR6 update and Query(s)

Hi All Merry Xmas, and forth coming new year.

OK, I have spent some days cleaning the Avon SR6 I bought. The Repair went well, and no leaks to date.

I have rewired and placed new Nav Lights (LED) with Seperate Anchor switch, rewired to two bilge pumps (Rear Deck) and fitted a new VHF Antenna and cabling to the A frame.

Oh, and a fishfinder.

I will post some pics soon.

Now I am going to sound dumb here (primarily because I am regarding the boat), but here goes: -

There are two trap hatches to the rear in the deck, with lock down pins. Why?

There is water down there (slush) not much, should I be putting a bilge pump down there?

I would appreciate feedback.

Regards All

Hi these hatches are there to enable underdeck access I would not advise putting a bilge pump in as you shouldnt get a lot of water in there and with the sealed hatches it acts as a bouyancy chamber if things go totally wrong!

Cheers for that. I might clear out the slush with a one of pump out.
