Avon, why dont they update the ancient SR pics on their website?

Why do Avon have so many old pictures of their Seariders on their website?

http://www.avon-workboats.com/page/avon_range

Looking at other manufacturers websites they are well done, modern & up to date.

The pics an the Avon site for the SR 4 & 6 in particular look like they are from the eighties, one would imagine looking at it that they just couldnt be bothered?

It seems a shame that a good product such as the SR is not promoted with a decent website.

Yeah, I've been thinking that for years!

I guess it's probably because they are selling workboats to industrial buyers, so the "pizzaz factor" probably accounts for a lot less of their sales percentage than the leisure side of their business:

I'd be interested to know what percentage of the SR crew here bought their boat new from Avon?

I enquired about the SR670 recently to Avon directly, they dont even offer it any more, that was ages ago & its still on the website.Things move s l o w l y in Wales!
Apparently it wasnt a "real" SR anyway but a Zodiac hull.
The SR 6 costs over twice as much as the SR 5.4, thats why there are very few SR6's to be found.

I priced a new SR4.7 with an Avon dealer last year - it was around £8k, just for the boat, console & steering.

Rescue/commercial users appear to get a different price structure though.

They will if they're UK based

Granted, if they are UK VAT registered, they'll claim it back from the next return they make.

Now, if like me, they're VAT registered OUTSIDE the UK, but inside the EU, then they won't pay a penny of VAT...

:-)

I emailed Avon, they dont even have SR4.7 pics. They sent me a couple of SR5.4 pics....nice but i guess the marketing isnt important to Avon workboats.
