Bad time of the year to sell?

Evening all

Looks like we're due a new member of the family! Great news, but it means we're not going to get out on the water for another couple of seasons realistically .

In your experience, is the market totally dead this time of year? Obviously I'd like to sell it sooner rather than later, but I guess the supply increases, and at the same time the demand falls off about now. Wondering whether its worth my while advertising at all until spring has sprung.

Cheers
- J

Oh, and if anyone's interested in a 5.85m Ribtec with a 140hp 4-stroke and lots of gadgets, please let me know

Name your price.

I just bought a boat like yours. And sold one in 24 hours. Try it and see.

I'll pass your details on to my mates.

I brought her out in an F6 while I had ownership of it. I got soaked but she handled really well for a 5.75

I would say that going by my recent experience in trying to sell a RIB there is no good time to sell it. I've had my boat on boatsandoutboards for the last month and have had nothing but timewasters emailling me, asking if it is still for sale and then not replying again when I email them back. Wouldnt mind as much if it was only 1 or 2 people but must be about 15 people now!

Gary i know how you feel, i had a Cobra for sale last year and all i got was
the famous last words. well whats the least you will take then.
Or, I,am down your way next week we can talk after a sea trail.
In the end i got very furstrasted. and i would not talk prices untill they came to see the boat.
Beware the buyer with a bankers draft who wants to take the boat away on a weekend remember a draft is not cash it needs to be cleared by your bank

Appreciate the comment, however the boat is in as new condition and I have noticed similar narwhals for sale for the around the same price. Surely we cant all be over valuing our RIBS?

Erm....That engine is worth around £1200 at a guess (it's the same as mine), so the rest of the boat for £3.9k doesn't seem too good a deal for a 4.5m.

No insult intended-it's a nice looking boat.

Not what its worth but what someone will pay and where to pitch it to get some interest

I'm just about to sell my Searider and not to sure either think I will put it on boats& outboards with a price that I would pay rather than what it has cost, then try ebay with a reserve just under B&O price

or keep it to the spring but the boat will be a year older?

Search Narwhal on B&O and look at the prices-but you might get an unpleasant shock.

BTW, if your engine has power trim/tilt then say so in the ad. It's a selling point to people buying a 4Mish boat-not all do.
