Baiter Slipway - Poole - Update Information

For information I recently used Baiter Slipway at Poole found that in addition to the closure of the nearby toilet block last summer, the wash down taps at the top of the slipway have now been removed and blanked off, so unable to flush brakes and engine etc

Considering the price for an annual permit increased by over 50% last year I find this rather disappointing. I have written a letter to the council and will update this thread if I receive a response.

Any news on this? I often use the slip in summer and find when the taps do work, they tend to be low pressure at best. But some freshwater is better than none. Thanks for posting this info!

Sorry for delay - as of 27th March the taps are still blanked off - despite sending 3 emails now I still haven't had a response from the Environmental Services Department at Poole Council who are allegedly responsible for the decision

It may be worth speaking to the harbour master about it. They are generally the ones in the know and despite being council employees seem to have as much contempt for the council as everyone else.
